Being a Socialist
Well, I don't believe in equal distribution of wealth...but these days I often wish the world would have been easier to live in had God been a socialist and there was an equal distribution of intelligence among human beings...It is just impossible to drive sense into a thick skull :( ... The negotiations, hand holding and patience required to get results out of people who refuse to use their brains cause such a colossal waste of time, energy and resources...
At times, I keep reducing my speed of thoughts and ideas to match the others...so as to reach an agreeable solution...but sometimes it is just very very frustrating...You feel that your own brain will lose its sharpness due to lack of use...

I thought agreement is on the virtue of the idea not on the speed at which it is generated.

well, when you are working against tight deadlines and are trying to take your team with you...speed of ideas is equally or most often even more important than the virtue of the idea...'cos you are not looking for the one perfect idea...rather you look for quic solutions that can further be refined...
I agree with your first quote...the only problem is...in the situation I am in, the people involved, doesn't speak anything even if I am willing to listen Basically they just don't use their brains to generate any ideas...or even find faults with the others' ideas...
In plain simple terms I am talking about the difference between mediocrity and excellence...and yes, I believe I belong to the latter group...Maybe you mistake that for being too sure of my wisdom... :P.
BTW, your style reminds me of a well read lady in blogosphere I know.r u who I think u r????
