Can Someone Lend Me...

...some time? Yea, you heard me right... these days my life has taken on a very hectic hue...and I find a lot of people around me with a lot of time on their hands...if only they could give some of that to me....no, its not that I don't organise my time properly...I accomplish a lot of things in my 24 hours...But, I really would love to pack in some more...And here goes my wish list...I need more time ...

1. To read the newspaper in the morning
2. To watch television in the evening
3. To snuggle up with a book...more often than now
4. To make my house spotless during weekends
5. To plant my roses
6. To watch the rain (and not worry about the wet clothes, the unwashed clothes, the uncooked meals, the power failure, etal)
7. To listen to music (not just in the car, in between conversations...rather the unadulterated joy of being one with the song)

I wish I had more time, so that I need not prioritise...and let go of some of my favorite things...just 'cos they aren't important enough…

Positive Fixations

These days, there is a lot of emphasis on "being happy, thinking positive" and so on. It is the latest fad - being happy always. And like any other fad, the majority of society runs behind it, and spends hard earned money on it...without thinking about the actual benefits (or whether there are any benefits at all). And the smart ones out there are making money, by literally making you dance to their tunes....

While I agree that it is always better to be happy and positive, it need not be an obsession. No one can be happy all the time. The purpose of tears is not just to keep your eyes moist....And I believe whoever created the human body (or however it got created, if you believe in evolution...) is infinitely more intelligent than all the new age gurus put together....So, if you have the ability to feel anger, sorrow, jealousy and so on...it must definitely be having a purpose...

Who is society to decide that some are positive feelings and others are negative feelings? What i…

Puzzle

If someone you care for (let's call him/her A) gets hurt by your behaviour to B who is someone you don't care for (rather someone you abhor from the very depths of your heart, which you previously didn't know existed...), then do you apologize to B for the sake of A? Or do you remain true to your convictions?

Complicating elements of the puzzle:

1. You adore A as much as you abhor B
2. A adores B as much as you abhor B
3. B has hurt you with words and actions in every encounter
4. You don't have the choice of an open communication with B, where you can tell him/her how much you get irritated by the way s/he treats you

Random Thoughts...

The one thing that is definitely good about my new job is the bus service...The ten minute joy ride gives me ample 'time for myself'...And they play good music...

Today, it was raining...realised how much I missed monsoons in God's own country...It had been five years since I left...Brought back a lot of memories...wet uniforms, wet hair, wet books...wet trees, rivulets of water on the road....

A tamil song - haunting music - took me to college days, the amazing excursions .... the don't care attitude , the same assignment written many times ... paid for by diary milk...whose size was proportionate to the pages written ... the friendships lost forever....

And then the same song- a sadder version - as if it was almost telling me that I can never go back in time...brought me back to the present...and the deadlines for the day....

Yea, and I almost forgot to add - the people in my new firm are far more humane, loving and caring....and more importantly, more genuine...than the…
