A True Friend
In that bygone era known as childhood, it was easy to recognize true friends…they were the ones who waited for you after lunch to join hands in that long and arduous trek to the bathroom complex which was at the other end of the school….They were the ones who shared their lunch boxes with you…and sometimes even helped you finish your lunch faster so that you can rush to the playground faster…they ran with you …sometimes falling down with you and getting bruised, sometimes picking you up when you fell and accompanying you to the much dreaded “iodine room” with reassurances through tearful eyes …“No it won’t hurt”…No logical explanations on why it won’t hurt…no complex analysis of why you fell down in the first place…or how the fall could have been prevented…no pinning responsibilities of who pushed you down…
And then you grow up…and long for that friend who would cry just because you are crying…who would just tell you “No it won’t hurt”…and you long for that innocence which will help you believe that !!!

@alex: your smile reminds me of old friends from college who would most likely respond to a blog like this with " Ayoooo, no philosophy pleaaaaaaaaaseeeeee"...heheee
I am glad. :)
