Mediocrity
I find it everywhere...
Shopping
A shopkeeper peddling inferior stuff, poor customer service...demanding a premium still...
Transportation
Pot holed roads....rigged meters...abusive language...policemen who shrug their shoulders....
In the workplace
A subordinate giving a mediocre report...a boss saying "Let it be, we don't have time to modify it"
Most people seem quite satisfied with mediocrity...in fact they feel that's the way it should be...excellence and perfection are not even worthy goals anymore.... packaging seems to be more relevant than the product itself...
The underlying root cause behind all of this is an absence of sincerity....a sincere effort to excel...
Complacence...being satisfied with just floating along with the current (and the scum, too)...
Personally, I feel encouraging mediocrity is one of the worst sins one can do to the human race.

True. People who realise the untapped potential of people often try, in different ways. Through speeches, poetry, stories, paintings, etc. Some see it. Some don't. Those who know keep trying still.
