Resolutions
I know it is a bit too late for resolutions...almost a quarter late as per set norms...but I was never a new year resolution person...for me new year was all about cards...anyway, that's another topic altogether...today, I suddenly had this urge to pen down a plan for the year...rather what is left of it...and here it is...
1. Travel : Both hubby and me being avid travel bugs, a list without places to visit is no list at all...This year my personal choices are Australia, Leh, Andamans (or even Lakshadweep) and North East India (atleast one state) - not necessarily in that order.
2. Books : I really love to end a tiring day with a few pages. I have recently re-discovered this pleasure , thanks to my hubby who religiously takes me to the library every weekend (his personal motive ofcourse, is having to deal with a far more pleasant me during the week :P). I hope I can end this year more intellectually enriched.
3. No-no to plastic : It all started with the government in God's Own Country banning the use of plastic covers less than 50 microns in thickness...leaving me wondering how thick is 50 microns? Add to that the clutter caused by the plastic bags accumulated by my daily grocery shopping...and I decided its time to act on it...My mother-in-law gave me a very practical and useful suggestion of using my own shopping bag....Though I promptly put a shopping bag into my laptop bag, I still forget to use it when I shop and end up receiving plastic bags....I hope atleast by the end of this year, I would start effectively using my own bag for shopping ...atleast my two pence for saving the environment....
4. Wardrobe rationalisation : I've always wanted to sit down and sort through all the clothes that I have and give away the stuff I no longer use, make a list of stuff I need and go buy it in one go...I hate shopping and end up never having the right stuff to wear. Instead of doing incremental shopping , I hope sometime this year I can devote an entire week to shop for all the stuff that I will need in the next two years atleast...
5. Throw a party : I am not a very party kind of person, mostly 'cos I end up in parties with people who are atleast one or two generations removed from me...But I would really love to organise a party for my friends...where I do all the planning, cooking, decorating, serving and everything else that it takes to make a perfect host !!!
That's the bare minimum I would love to do....
