Marketing Mix

There is a concept of "marketing mix" that is considered one of the fundamental pillars of successful marketing - it consists of 4 Ps - Product, Price, Place and Promotion. You choose to tweak these parameters to make it perfect for your target customer base.... For example, you may have a lower priced version for the larger masses and then a superior "aspirational" one for the elite...You may make a product available everywhere...or only in exclusive outlets in 5 star hotels...and so on...

I feel, we do that in our relationships as well...Depending on the other party in a relationship, we present ourselves differently....

Sometimes, we come in a sleek package with actually no worthy product...at other times, we are rough diamonds in a rubbish bin...

We sell ourselves short to some ...we act elusive to others...

We promote our skills...we act modest...

We are some one's best dream ...and an other one's worst nightmare...

Wonder who is the real person? An amalgamation of these different faces ? A face that is none of these? Or the face that we present to our soul mate?

Tinkerbells,

I feel, people make such a choice, in order to get famous, powerful, rich etc. But in the process, they are killing the goodness in them.

I have replied to the comment.

yea, saw your reply...I agree. what about a reply to my comment on your animals (part 1)???
Killing the goodness...well, I share your views, but some of these ppl say that they act in a way that pleases the other person (read, diplomatically)and so essentially they are good...would like to know what you feel about the eternal truth vs diplomacy thing...can I wait for a post from you? Or have you already written abt it somewhere?

Tinkerbells,

You know what the truth is.
I know what i believe in(my truth).

Both these need not coincide.

And for me, diplomacy is a variant of superficiality which is accepted. Not all. For those who do it for the sake of appearing 'diplomatic'.

During such instances, a lot of meanings are lost.

PS: I did read your comment on nature-1. Forgot to respond.
